#LAWTAKE - AEW Dynamite 10/26/22
Good Thursday to the Law Abiding Citizens of the Ringside Club! Tonight we run through the entirety of AEW's latest installment of Dynamite on TBS.
Chris Jericho & Daniel Garcia of the JAS vs. Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta of the BCC
The Pure Title and Daniel Garcia could use a new opposition if it won't be Bryan Danielson.
Genuinely curious to see which former ROH Champion will step up to the challenge next week against Jericho.
JAS continue to dominate in the way a dominant heel faction should. But the W tonight didn't belong to them because...
Claudio and Yuta of the BCC desperately needed that win! If either would have ate a pin they really would have to reconsider their allegiance to this group..
Where does Claudio go from here? Another feud with Jericho, sure... but another major loss? Nah.
Where does Yuta go from where? A potential feud with Bryan Danielson as would elude with the post-match segment between the Combat Club.
The Elite Return?
Groovy promo that creates the intrigue of these three chaotic entities returning to AEW programming. Where do they go once they're back? I imagine rightfully at the Death Triangle for the belts they technically never lost.
Swerve In Our Glory vs. FTR
The Acclaimed vs. Neese/Woods over the rights to Scissor was the most short-lived feud with some good potential for long term story telling., Imagining months of not being able to Scissor? Oh the hysteria!
This tag match of Swerve and Lee vs Dax and Cash on any given night would rule and oh yes it did! Nobody slouched tonight.
The juxtaposition of Swerve being a cheating smarmy heel and Keith Lee being the calm kind giant is actually pretty dope.
Right call with SIOG winning. The rubber match between the former champs and current champs was inevitable and rarely done in AEW so I don't mind us not getting an FTR showdown.
As much as we all want FTR to win the AEW Tag belts for that second time, Acclaimed are in too much of a full gear to face the swan song or a backlash of facing FTR.
With all the belts FTR have, they really do have a handful on the ROH side of things so I think they will be just fine without the AEW belts.
More Saraya and DMD!
They came, they argued, and they left! Rinse, cycle, repeat.
I'm going to go with Revolution for the official match. Something doesn't bold well with a Full Gear pay-off so soon.
MJF Live w/ Renee Paquette!
MJF has gotten the word "MID" over more than Black Twitter when they roast the sneakers.
Top tier Jon Moxley impression from MJF. I can do that every week until they fight at Full Gear.
Renee's presence just adds so much more credibility to the AEW interview team. A refreshing name and personality. Less Schiavone all the time, let his appearances in this role be more appreciated.
MJF and his disdain for The Firm is so well planned that I can see this shit coming a mile away.
The Kingdom Are Here!
Rumors of Matt Taven going to WWE have been foiled as the former ROH Champion alongside Mike & Maria Bennett have signed a multi-year AEW contract. This should be a good boost in the arm for the ROH side.
Not many might be hip to Matt Taven but dude won me over during his run to the top and dethroning Jay Lethal initially. I hope this is a very bright addition to the AEW roster.
The tag team division in AEW and ROH can use a strong addition like The Kingdom anyhow so I'm intrigued.
WarJoe are a thing... for now. Joe has gotta turn at some point, right?
Wardlow needs a feud that matters and bad. If not defending the TNT title consistently, he needs SOMETHING to do.
Bryan Danielson vs. Sammy Guevara
I can watch a Bryan Danielson match in silence and darkness like a psychopath and actually find much enjoyment.
Sammy Guevera is a prick to the highest degree but damn that kid is fun to watch in the ring. Undeniable talent. Shame we had to lose Andrade amidst it.
Bryan Danielson himself needs a feud that matters. Are we getting Danielson/Garcia again? or Danielson/Yuta? Either way, Danielson will have a major hand in the upcoming ROH PPV, imo.
Oh yeah, and Bryan Danielson gets another win! Forget being a champion, I'm just happy when my boy gets his hand raised in a victory.
Fenix/Cassidy/Luchasauras/Christian Cage Backstage Rage
I never hear Rey Fenix talk to the point that I didn't realize his English was actually strong.
Let Rey Fenix talk more. That's it.
Luchasauras is just looking to pick a fight with someone and since Christian can't wrestle I can't see a Trios Title being in his future...
Enter Orange Cassidy and the All-Atlantic Championship. What nationality does Luchasauras fall under? Just curious.
Riho vs. Jamie Hayter
Riho byke! The crowd loves this woman and it's not hard to understand why./
But the crowd also love the hell out of Jamie Hayter. Hell, I too rep the Hayter Mobb!
Jamie Hayter is a homegrown future AEW Women's World Champion. It's not hard to see. It's only but so many women to choose from in this company.
Toni Storm and that Interim 'title' really is the pits. Thunder Rosa needs to get back ASAP or we gotta do away with the interim stuff.
Eddie Kingston Backstage
Eddie Kingston is rooting for Mox to win tonight against Penta even though Penta is his boy too.
Seems like Eddie is going for a new "I'm just agreeing with everything and playing nice" gimmick and I'm not even eager to see when he'll go unhinged. Lets storytell, AEW.
Darby Allin In The Darkness
Darby Allin vs. Jay Lethal again (and probably again) because anyone asked for this.
Remember when Darby Allin was one of the hottest tickets in AEW? Wtf happened?
Jay Lethal came into AEW hot and has essentially just filled the "Shelton Benjamin Veteran Level Black Quota" for AEW.
Satnam Singh is mad pointless.
Sting is home chilling because what is his purpose even here? Darby doesn't even have one!
AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Pentagon Jr.
Hard to argue Moxley doesn't have one of the best entrances in all pro-wrestling barring his former stablemates.
Pentagon getting his first shot at the AEW World Title, for real? Long time coming.
I can watch these two fight over and over and I would not be bored. Lets table this feud for 2023/24.
I just want everyone reading this to know that Jon Moxley beats his opponents with Clotheslines, Rear-Naked Chokes, and DDT's like it's 1988.
The Firm Strike!
How convenient that the BCC door is chained shut while they had to discuss all the things going on with the crew.
I can't remember the last time I saw Jon Moxley get manhandled to that extent since what, the glass in the eye schtick against Jericho during the pandemic?
I actually like the babyface MJF idea were getting but I am just not buying it. That swerve is coming in strong in Newark.
The Firm are such an interesting variety of names and faces and then it's Lee Moriarty trying his damndest to stand out with the tennis ball colored dome.
The Firm have potential to go from jobber level group to Judgment Day-heat for the mid-card factions with just this next few weeks.
If you would have told me Stokely would be the closing scene to a Dynamite this year; I would have absolutely believed you.
If you would have told me the Ass Boys, Ethan Page, W. Morrisey and Lee Moriarty would be the closing scene to a Dynamite this year; I would have raised my eyebrow and said "you meant Rampage"?
