#LAWTAKE - AEW COLLISION 3/9/24

Welcome in to another #LawTake courtesy of RSC’s own Chad Law. Rather than flood your Twitter feed, enjoy my focused review of the current product below! All comments are welcome.

  • You can’t go wrong starting a show with a Bryan Danielson match. If you would have told me in 2018 at the height of STP and Danielson’s WWE run that these two worlds would collide six years later I’d have never believed it. But we here now.

  • Shane Taylor deserves more, as do the rest of the black wrestlers on the AEW roster.

  • These two put a banger on, especially with the size contrast. Slimey Nigel on commentary down talking Bryan is going to be fun when they have their inevitable showdown.

  • Will Ospreay is here to return the favor on Danielson, applaud STP, send them on their way, then announce at AEW Dynasty the two of them should do battle. This will easily be a MOTY contender. A phrase we say too often with Will Ospreay but damn it’s inevitable.

  • Okada feels like such a big deal and I’m glad they’re keeping it this way. Him and the Bucks doing squash matches regularly - sign me up.

  • The three interchangeable jobbers didn’t stand a fucking chance. The Rainmaker really the best clothesline in the business and that’s how it should stay.

  • Eddie Kingston ambush afterwards that lead to nothing. Enter Penta that lead to nothing. Oh shit it’s a returning PAC! O/U how long until PAC is back on the shelf with a miscellaneous injury?

  • Regardless of this, PAC/Penta vs Bucks in the Tag Team Tourny while Okada and Kingston do battle 👍🏾👍🏾 Pac will be perfect foil for Okada until Dynasty.

  • In another showcase of a black wrestler taking a L to a blonde superstar tonight, Trish Adora ate defeat at the hands of Mariah May still in Toni Storm cosplay. This leads to more Toni Storm on full display with her great character work will Mariah keeps playing sidekick. That’s what’s up.

  • Deonna still not over this feud. That’s what’s up. If she doesn’t get the W in their next match we can put Deonna next to Taya in the shiny “Former TNA Wrestler Now On Rampage/ROH” section.

  • Nick Wayne is gonna get nicer as time goes on. Boy is pretty smooth in the ring as is. Potential at its highest. Adam Priest didn’t stand a chance after that Wayne’s World cutter.

  • “Christian Skips Leg Day” sign is only the red herring that Adam Copeland was on deck in a CMLL wrestler mask to attack The Patriarchy. To even the odds, Copeland held the TNT Title hostage while pushing the opposition back via a large box of… spikes? Uhh.. sure!

  • See you guys in Toronto in two weeks for that “I Quit” match they’re going to run into our brains until.

  • Speaking of CMLL masked wrestlers, here is Titan of CMLL to take on Lionheart El Hericho in Y2J’s next Collision Exhibition.

  • This was a cool showing for both. Jericho desperately wants to stay on TV and he’ll take it either through hooking onto Hook or fighting Lucha’s weekly. More Gates of Agony and JeriHook. Sigh.

  • Speaking of even more CMLL, Mistico took on Angelico in a briefly excellently executed match. Phew this flew by but I wasn’t disappointed.

  • Both guys knew the assignment when they showed up. They don’t get much TV time so they had to show out.

  • What ever happened to Jack Evans? Well whatever did happen doesn’t matter cause Angelico doesn’t win anyways.

  • FTR are throwing their hats in the ring in the Tag Team Tournament this March and tbh wtf else would they have done?? I see FTR/BCC 3 being the finals, somehow, someway.

  • What street in Atlanta is this Atlanta Street Fight occurring? Ralph D Abernathy, MLK, Marcus Garvey, Howell Mills, Peachtree, Piedmont?

  • So odd to see Jeff and Karen Jarrett playing a babyface but it’s Team TNA so I don’t see this lasting long, although for the sake of winning this feud they should stay face.

  • House of Black either back in the Trios hunt, Tag Title tourny, or having more multi man matches with the Briscoe Bro & Team TNA. I’m gonna go with the latter, burning table finale and all.

  • Speaking of, the burning table spot on Mark didn’t do much for me because AEW has numbed me to these table spots. Shit we just saw Copeland bust the same move in his last PPV match.

  • A classic Double J guitar shot to Brodie Lee off the ring apron through the table was beautiful btw.

  • That damn spike was more important than a thing else in this match.

Overall a 7/10 Collision for me. Not the worst, not the best, just good filler on a Saturday night.
