#LAWTAKE - TNA SACRIFICE 3/8/24
Welcome in to another #LawTake courtesy of RSC’s own Chad Law. Rather than flood your Twitter feed, enjoy my focused review of the current product below! It’s back to back showings of wrassling with TNA, WWE and AEW all active tonight. All comments are welcome.
The Digital Media Championship really is the Pre-Show Title and that’s so… new to see for a company. It’s like the Cruiserweight Title in WWE. Crazzy Steve retains against Joe Hendry the former champion and essentially he won’t a reign that matters much since it’s only pre-show activity. The focus here was on Hendry & AJ Francis dancing their feud.
I don’t want to see Mike Bailey keep losing. Amazing efforts, then lose. Tonight that was not the case. Finally! Speedball gets a W even if it’s a tag match. Shout out to Trent Seven for being a solid partner for Speedball.
Let’s hope both raise up in the ranks of the tag division. The Rascalz playing lackeys to Steve Maclin works for them right now.
Nic Nemeth is here without the physical IWGP Global Title around his waist but that’s okay cause he has the TNA World Title on his radar. Steve Maclin is trying to climb the ladder again to get back to the World Title.
This was a great exhibition of two OG’s trying to keep their names and streaks alive.
Maclin finds himself always in these positions fighting the other main event contenders every PPV. I’m not complaining though.
Not a fan of the Danger Zone name for Nemeth’s former Zig Zag but it’ll get better on us eventually. Mans is already racking up more wins in a month of TNA than his last eight months of WWE.
ABC Vs Meyers and Edwards of The System for the TNA Tag Titles. Here’s an ending I didn’t really see coming. I thought for sure ABC would dogwalk these two faction stooges and continue their impressive reign for the Spring.
In a strong showing, the stooges won and now the System hold all the gold going into the main event. This was a twist for the night. Where do ABC go from here is TBD.
In my PACK IT UP match of the night - Kon vs PCO was the train wreck we expected it to be. These two won’t stop even after this match I’m sure. PCO is always a good hand to do anything to kill time. Kon is determined to get over. By any means.
Unfortunately it won’t be tonight when the former ROH World Champion hits that gigantic PCOSault for the win.
That Women’s Tag Match came and went. New tag champions. It’s not many women in the division as is for a tag team so this isn’t surprising a title change occurred. Back to the ABC question of where do the former champions go next?
Hammerstone vs Josh Alexander 2 next. A helluva match this one was. Hammerstone is going to be a great heel for Impact - just stay away from The System and don’t be the Wardlow to Moose’s Adam Cole. Hammerstone on his own causing mayhem is going to be fun. No idea where either man goes after this match besides a rubber match at the next PPV in some stipulation match - perhaps a 30 minute Iron Man Match. Thats mean right there.
Hammerstone’s Nightmare Pendulum is still so fucking cool. I caught that in his early days of MLW and couldn’t believe the creativity of that move.
Six man tag match of GYV & the X Division Champion Mustafa Ali vs Time Machine consisting of KUSHIDA, Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin. This could have been the main event in another year of TNA, maybe last year. Strong showing from all six man but did we expect a single thing less with this caliber?
Ali executes one of the crispest 450 Splashes. Easily one of the best ones I’ve seen from any current wrestlers. Ali & GYV pick up the W here and we will probably see a rematch on Impact before Sabin eventually fights Ali again for the X Division Title.. 🥱
Ash By Elegance will be Knocksout Champion by Slammiversary. Call it how I see it.
Xia Brookside is gonna be on a Billy Starks level of trajectory to getting over. I can see her pairing with Jordynne Grace in some form.
Tasha Steelz finally back in the fold for the Knockouts Title and it’s nice to see. Her inevitable singles match with Grace should be at the next PPV. The end result of this match was never a cause of concern for me. Grace won’t lose the title anytime soon (until Ash By Elegance is ready to hold her own in the ring for longer than 5 minutes).
Eric Young should on-screen run TNA. Once this in-ring work is done, he should be the Scott D’Amore of this place. Nobody else from the TNA OG’s left, besides maybe Kazarian, really has the cache, respect and demeanor he has to run that place.
The half robe for Moose is fucking outlandish. Who said this was the move? 😂😂
Moose is going to coast as TNA World Champion post this feud with Eric Young. It’s nobody credible to take the belt off of him, let alone anybody worthwhile to feud with for the next few months besides the inevitable Josh Alexander match. I see more multi-man matches with The System and even easier defenses to statpad Enter Mike Santana PLEASE.
Cool match, Kazarian showed up and cost Eric Young the match in a battle of Old TNA MF’ers.
Moose with the coolest Spear today tbh. As for who’s next for Moose? I can’t call it. Tune into Impact on Thursday nights on AXSTV to find out.
