#LAWTAKE - IMPACT NO SURRENDER 2/24/23
A rare sighting for Impact Wrestling here on the RSC but here we are! I managed to catch the latest Impact PLE titled No Surrender and below are a slew of my #LAWTAKES..
Moose is one of the best in Impact and I only want him to be treated as such. Where does he go from here? The X Division?
The Dot Media match is cool for the theme of the title. I’ve gotten used to realizing the Digital Media Title is just an upper midcard title (ala the IC, US, even TNT title) for Impact and if you realize that then the concept of matches are easier to digest. Joe Hendry is getting over as can be.
Impact makes such odd decisions - like signing a former member of a long-tenured jobber tag team from WWE to major, long term deals and storylines. And that’s always the running theme for their roster.
Kaz needed do defeat Kon and without ease. Kaz is having another shot at a wrestling life this year and I feel a run with the X title come BFG.
The Hex are back in Impact and the tag division needed this shot in the arm. Marti & Allison bring some legitimacy to the women’s tag title ranks. Taya is always a beast and she should be highlighted more as a solo act as 2023 continues on.
What the fuck are Bully Ray & Tommy Dreamer doing going back and forth for this amount of time? Can we build some new stars in Impact! It could all be so easy. We have a fully loaded roster.
Steve Maclin is the next Impact World Champion - not future. Brian Myers will stand strong in the upper midcard as usual, same with Heath. PCO and Eddie Edwards will have a busy summer ahead.
KENTA debut on Impact should feel like a bigger deal?! This match rocked because all six competitors rock, and with such a combo you couldn’t get a mediocre match. MCMG defending against Bey and Austin is gonna rock and that right there is a title change waiting to happen.
Can we get more KENTA in Impact? Cut back on the Bully Ray & Dango and Kon and former throwaways from NXT and Dark Elevation and really give us some quality stars who can wrestle.
Mickie James’ run isn’t ending any time soon and Masha morphs into the JD McDonaugh roll of always coming up short in the continuing efforts to challenge a champion for their title. Who’s next for Mickie?
Josh Alexander runs through Impact talent with ease nowadays and unlike a title reign of the same length and high profile spotlight (Bron Breaker), Josh is actually delivering some bangers. A sleeper for match of the night for me and that’s Rich Swann biased aside, this served as a good filler-PPV title defense on the road to Slammiversary 2023. Steve Maclin is destined for that title. Gotta be.
