TNA IMPACT Notes
Welcome in to another #LawTake courtesy of RSC’s own Chad Law. Rather than flood your Twitter feed, enjoy my focused review of the current product below! All comments are welcome.
Join me as I attempt to stay up to date on a weekly basis for TNA Impact programming!
As a TNA Lifer, I owe it to myself and the RSC credibility to dedicate a documented #LawTake for TNA. Many of times I check the blogs for TNA reviews and it’s not as many as you’d expect when you have WWE and AEW driving in more clicks.
Anyhow, Steve Maclin is on a rebuilding tour as he tries to get back to that TNA World Title. Creating his own faction is the perfect timing too. Gives Rascals something to do and sink their teeth into.
Mikey Bailey is so good to watch and I really used to not enjoy the shoes off karate man gimmick. He’s won me over. I would just like to see him win something. Anything. He’s playing the sensational loser too many times. More wins for Mike Bailey damnit!
Steve Maclin and Nic Nemeth is going to be a very good match at the PPV at the least. I just wonder who sides with Nemeth now that Maclin is building his army..
Frankie Kazarian is not going anywhere. Literally. Suspended or on camera or in the ring or in storylines. I really fear Kazarian wins the World Title later than sooner.
Jake Something was always a strong hand to me (pause). I just don’t know what his gimmick is. Too tongue in cheek with the wrestling name and his character and it’s always been like this since the previous regime.
I think I like TNA’s showcase of Lucha wrestlers because it’s only a select few.
Jake’s finished The Void is fucking nice though. He’s definitely gonna be in a feud with Mustafa this summer for the X Division title.
Alan Angels is gonna get over by any means. And he’s bringing Kon with him. Two guys who went from jobbers in two of the biggest companies to finding their niche in TNA. I’ll give em a shot.
I’ll never purchase an AJ Francis single. No offense.
Joe Hendry is getting over too. The theme of Impact is these characters have been so engulfed in their roles that it’s working. Nothing is surprising me, and that’s not a bad thing at all. Everyone is exactly how I last watched them and it’s working.
Rich Swann and AJ Francis in a singles match for the PPV I can easily see coming about. Buy time to a major match between Francis and Hendry.
Hammerstone will be a problem in TNA. Mans continues to be the king of the underdog. If all goes right, four years from now he will be the hottest free agent again.
Josh Alexander is just showing up to wrestle at this point and with the quality he always puts out in the ring you can’t even be upset. Just do the job.
Mustafa Ali is going to have a miraculous run in 2024. This X Division run is going to show it.
Chris Sabin is the old veteran that just won’t go away. He’s approaching Kazarian territory and a gimmick makeover is needed this year.
I can see Ali going after the World Title in TNA. I can also see Ali being All Elite to end this year and having a five star match against Williams O’Spreay at World’s End 2024.
Ash By Elegance can be Knockouts Champion sooner than later given how thin credible competitors are in Impact for Miss Grace.
Speaking of, Xia Brookside being in a triple threat with Tasha and Jordan at Sacrifice is just to eat the pin to prolong a one-on-one between Jordan and Steelz. But Xia will at least look cool trying!
LOL it’s an angry Rhino appearance.
It still feels trippy seeing Moose “lead” a faction. Brian Meyers, Moose, the Edwards feel like a buddy comedy I’d see on Netflix.
ABC are a legit tag team right now and they deserve plenty praise as the TNA Tag Team Champions. Ace and Bey compliment each other so well as the years have gone on. Two former X Division champions & enemies bonded together for more gold and to climb the ranks and main events. Their tag team writes itself.
Eric Young could run TNA if he ever hung it up. Not to say he has to now, as he can still go. Do I feel the company needs to put a focus on him while you have hotter stars being created elsewhere? Absolutely not.
Moose/Eric Young is a cool PLE main event for TNA standards but we’re going to need some more notable or at the least respectable names step up to Moose. Rich Swann always could pop back up, Maclin/Nemeth as the year goes on, Josh Alexander is on a run right now, Hammerstone as he gets more acquainted.
TNA will cloud the main event scene with older wrestlers in TNA fashion. I listed those names in the last note, but insanely I could see Moose facing Rhino, Kon, PCO, & Kazarian all in the next four months. Thats a stretch. But wow that’s not enticing to look forward to.
The System have a pretty jiggy Big Boot/Backpack Stunner/Elbow Drop trios FINISHER that I wish more trios (champions) utilized.
Main point - build new stars, TNA. Please! More of a reason to join and watch the product. Don’t sink to NWA levels of reaching, I beg of you.
