#LAWTAKE - NXT GREAT AMERICAN BASH 7/30/24
It’s Night One of the NXT Great American Bash (almost a month removed from 4th of July) and this was a HEAVY women’s showing. Not mad at it though. Dive into this weeks Law Take. Shall we begin?
In an inevitable showing, The Unholy Scott’s defeated Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson to retain the Women’s Tag Titles as they prepare to hopefully drop them back to the Cocoa Butter Combat Club Friday on Smackdown.
Lash Legend has been improving tremendously and she looked like a beast. She could have easily won this match by herself if you compare size and stature, so Jakara eating the pin wasn’t surprising.
Orah Mensah getting another visual 1-2-3 roll-up on Ethan Page, post-match, was amusing. Their match should be entertaining, albeit just a brief program and win for Ethan to add to his reign.
Tony D beats Tavion Heights to retain the Heritage Cup in a pretty good showing. I just don’t know what else comes of it with this feud. A group warfare match most likely. Otherwise, Tony D’Angelo is just stuck spinning wheels.
Cedric Alexander picks up the biggest win of his WWE career post-Hurt Business (he was in that group right?) after beating Brooks Jensen who was defending his name and Shawn Spears. So much for Jensen looking like a threat to anything after beating the snot out of his former partner last week.
Nothing will come of this win for Cedric, and this loss will be swept under the rug for Jensen as I’m sure they will run this match back in a 50-50 way.
Joe Hendry is here and it’s time to believe in his performance skills for this live concert. After being interrupted by Gallus and Joe Koffey, the Joe’s go at it until the numbers game is too much. I wonder who ends up saving Joe Hendry to even the numbers. Anybody else from Scotland to make the save on his behalf?
Jaida Parker smoked this interchangeable blonde with ease as she makes us all remember she still needs to be the one to take the Women’s North American Title from Kelhani Jordan eventually.
Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne, and Jasmine Nicks beat Sol Ruca, Karmen P, and Lola Vice in a so-what six woman tag. Either introduce Trios titles or we will see this match run back three different ways, in tags and singles.
Thea Hail and Roxanne Perez was a BANGER. So believable of a match that you could think Thea was really going to pull it off and end Roxanne’s reign, even for just the surprise win. Not tonight though, as Roxanne’s reign is going to continue for some time as it just ain’t her time to give that belt up.
With Thea going back down the card, I question who is next for Roxanne on this never-ending list of women on NXT’s roster. I hope we get a fun #1 Contenders match next week to decide who.
A solid NXT showing this week for me. I can’t complain really. Enjoy this Law Take and if you want to say anything else in regard to, leave a comment below or hit me on Twitter.
