#LAWTAKE - WWE NXT 2/27/24
I’m here, I’m here. Two Takes in a row and I am gonna keep the reviews coming for ya. I ain’t saving these notes for some throwaway Tweets. Document them right here on the RSC site and go back to them months from now when you realize I might have predicted some of the turn of events! Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the review of this latest WWE NXT Tuesday.
So happy that the main event scene is growing beyond this Trick/Melo/Ilya series. Ilya has felt like one of the more transitional NXT champions even with this extensive of a reign. The matches are A1 but something just feels very secondary about homie.
Word, that Kelani Jordan & Fallon Hensley Kiana James match felt like it took forever. Right call with the heel Kiana winning. I really didn’t mind the pairing of Fallon and Kiana and I vision a reunion eventually when both characters realize they aren’t going higher up in the card in 2024.
This is the type of reps AEW’s women’s division could use. Yes, AEW should take a page out of NXT’s book and spotlight more women’s matches and change the algorithm.
For those keeping record - name me the last time Edris & Malik won a tag team match? One better - last time they had a win streak?
More Jaida Parker More Gigi Dolin.
I don’t want to see Robert Stone turn on Von Wagner and side with Lexis King but I see it coming.
Lexis King has been on a constant losing streak that eventually he will be believable as a top heel, right?
Fun ride as tag champs Wolf Dogs but I’m totally here for them beating Chase U then losing due to a miscue to the Good Brothers. 189 tag teams in the WWE and only two tag titles (technically three but count as two).
Good Brothers as the dominant tweener boss tag team to run the division for the rest of the year.
Ilya could do another year in NXT easily. He still has so much left to go even after he loses the title.
Trick’s return pop is going to be out of this world!!!
More Lash Legend More Jakara Jackson.
Lyra Valkyria feels so as champion. The case when the women’s division is so packed and thriving that we almost don’t even care about Lyra.
It feels like it’s been AGES since Roxanne Perez was last women’s champion. Shes got a while to go and a long line to stand on until she gets back to that.
Jacy Jayne went on and got a new group to impose on. Gigi Dolin can’t buy a win. What a trajectory that ended up turning into.
Dijak will be NXT Champion. I don’t want to see it or say it but with a contract reup on the way I see him staying over leaving for free agency.
It’s not Luca Donic out there that’s for sure.
Yeah yeah with the character development… but Dijak should have killed this Luca guy.
You can’t watch AEW and ask “wtf are these people?” on a weekly basis cause NXT is giving you just as many unknowns but with a little more offense and character development.
WWE & AEW will always share storylines simultaneously. CC: Tatum and Lyra/Mariah and Toni.
Noam Dar is such a star yo. This guy just wrestles so good and has the charisma and faction to shine. Please elevate this man to the main event scene too!
That NXT roster is so stacked that the main event scene is suffering. How many times are we going to get Melo/Ilya before they give us the whole rest of the summer with Melo/Trick? Bron is outta there, Baron Corbin been there and done that, who else is left for even Ilya to face? Can credible threats not named Dijak step up???
Enter Ridge Holland, Shawn Spears, and Tony D’Angelo. This is a refreshing trio that can add some enticement to the main event scene whether Ilya retains or not Yes, The Perfect 10 Chairman is back in NXT but truthfully that upper midcard NEEDS some credible names.
Melo/Tony is the perfect alternative for Road Block. No need to feature Trick just yet. Save that return for the best possible crowd, imo. Finally The Don of NXT gets a chance to shine in the main event!
