#LAWTAKE - WWE RAW 7/22/24
It’s been some time apart my dear RSC readers, but alas your boy Chad Law is back in full swing with the Law Takes for the rest of this year. Hold me to it! I’ve been well up to date with all the episodes and PPV’s of all the wrestling programs but the work life balance has been completely off the richter since the last review. But with some better balanced time on my hands, I have to get these thoughts off from all the wrestling I have been viewing. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the forthcoming Law Takes.
The more and more I see Damian Priest stand tall against GUNTHER while having the crowd behind him for a change, the more I believe Priest retains at SummerSlam in Cleveland.
Although, MAGA GUNTHER is doing such an incredible job getting his heel heat that I really see him getting the inevitable win on his home turf of Germany at the end of August for Bash In Berlin.
Perhaps The Judgment Day mistakenly cost Priest his World Title next weekend? I can’t see it just yet.
In what feels like WWE circa 2019, Bron Breakker and Ilja Dragunov faced off in what felt like another rinse-cycle-repeat match.
Bron won via referee stoppage to earn his next IC Title show in Cleveland, but something tells me that he won’t actually have a one-on-one showing and this will be a reason for Ilja to get interjected by this time next week.
This also gives me reason to believe with Ilja making the IC Title match at SummerSlam a three-way bout, Bron pins Ilja and thus furthers them having more and more one-on-one matches for the rest of 2024.
Lyra Valkyria feels like a fall from grace since her loss in the Queen In The Ring tournament. Rightfully so, though, shorty has no character.
Sonya Deville leads The Dangerous Studline in another W. Wild to see Sonya Deville hitting a finisher, letting alone winning a match. If there was a Women’s Trios Division, this faction would be leading the charge.
Adam Pearce and Christopher Daniels are neck-and-neck for WORST General Managers. Nick Aldis really is a GOAT with the commissioner work around the wrestling companies.
If Adam Pearce threatens to suspend anybody on the Raw roster, why the hell would we at home take it serious when the people he suspends clearly don’t.
CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre is finally official for SummerSlam in what should be the first of many matches this 2024 remainder. The first stop - a special guest referee appearance from Seth Rollins that should make us feel like Bret Hart/HBK/The Undertaker from 1997.
Holy smokes, Karrion Kross and his faction pick up a win and this probably won’t matter or lead to anything.
With Kofi Kingston on the sidelines, Xavier Woods is bound to keep taking pinfalls even with Akira Tozawa just floating right next to him.
Otis in his home state of Wisconsin was as over as could be, reminding me and I am sure many that homie was actually a MITB winner that inevitably did nothing but lose his chance to become a Champion to the man who would actually use his briefcase to become Champion - The Miz.
Speaking of The Miz, I am fine with Miz and Truth not being on TV to further any type of split between the two. We don’t really need that.
The Creeds and Gable together look like money, but sadly they will be stuck in this lower Midgard purgatory fighting The Wyatt Sicks.
Maxine Dupri is ungodly fly and attractive anytime she gets camera time. More Maxine amongst all this stupidity.
TBH, this might have been my favorite use of The Wyatt Sicks.. actually doing something. Uncle Howdy hits a Sister Abigail on Gable while all the factions involved stood amongst the fog machine and did nothing. We are totally getting Gable vs Uncle Howdy in the bathroom break of the night for SummerSlam.
Speaking of ungodly fly and attractive women on this show, Rhea Rhipley and Liv Morgan took turns showing off in front off Dirty Dom. Dom turns Liv’s hopeful '“I Love You” into a “I Hate You” in what I feel will be an inevitable turn from Dom to side with Liv. Not the most enticing but alas we are here.
Rhea Rhipley should smoke Liv’s boots with ease to get her belt back at SummerSlam, but I just don’t see this feud coming to an end any time soon.
Bronson Reed and Pete Dunne were about to have another NXT showdown when Sheamus showed up and knocked them both outta control. I believe it’s Sheamus vs Dunne next week and probably not for SummerSlam.
Poor Bronson Reed, dude really can’t get a chance to even get over whether it’s a match or a promo.
In a surprise loss, The Dangerous Studline’s Zoey Starks continues to hold an L as Zelina Vega gets a MAJOR win. Still don’t think this leads to anything for Zelina despite her being heralded on Twitter with the hashtag for “Push Zelina.”
Jey Uso and Rhea Rhipley are having some strange hidden entanglement, which lead to Jey teaming with Sami Zayn after Sami stopped a Judgment Day beat down earlier in the night. The former Bloodline alliance members picked up a win over the CURRENT Raw Tag Team Champions, relatively clean. Title shot next week perhaps?
Bron Breakker appeared and knocked Sami senseless, leaving Jey Uso in a blunder of “I still have no storyline or plans even though I’m one of the most over guys on this whole show.” It’s been exactly a year since Jey had a Universal Title match against Roman Reigns and right now it’s hard to believe he may be on the outside looking in for this years SummerSlam, with a potential match against Finn Balor or Carlito being the best he can do? Damn shame to there Yeet Man.
Enjoy the read my pals and I will see you all again for my NXT Law Take this Tuesday night. Get familiar right now, right now and if you are feeling my takes, or not, give me your feedback on Twitter @ Chad_Law or the Ringside Club’s official page.
